I think about my world as a dark room. There’s a candle in front of me which casts about three or four feet of light. That light is all I’m aware of, and it’s a metaphor for how much of the world I can understand. But I know there’s so much more outside it. That circle of light is all that a lot of people want to know, they’re happy to be ignorant of everything beyond their own lives. People get so damned wrapped up in themselves that it leads to a lot of isolation, they won’t take a moment to reach out into the darkness and feel around. Maybe they’ll find a light switch if they root around for long enough.
It’s a matter of time before we all run out, When I thought he was mine she caught him by the mouth.
